Lenten Campaign 2025

Snowdrops signs of Lenten Hope

Snowdrops are special little flowers.  Although they are only small and look delicate, they are very strong and are the first flowers of the year to break through the hard, cold earth.  Because of this, snowdrops are a sign of hope.  They tell us that winter is coming to a close and nature is springing back to life.

Snowdrops should encourage us to remember that our Lenten efforts, although they may be small, become beautiful signs of hope for the world.  Giving up things we want in order to help provide others with the things they need, makes us feel happy, as does the sight of snowdrops in bloom after a cold and dark winter.

This Lent we challenge you to make a snowdrop as a symbol of Lenten hope and the new life of Spring.

Your snowdrop should have two leaves.  On one leaf draw or write one thing you will give up this Lent.  On the other left draw or write the Act of Kindness you will commit to during Lent.

Your snowdrop can be large or small, sparkly, shiny, lit up, anything you want, but please make sure your drawings or writings are your best, no scribble please.

When you have finished bring your snowdrop into school.  Your photograph will be taken with your snowdrop and put on the school website.  Your snowdrop will be displayed in the entrance hall, and you will be given a certificate for taking part.

So go on fill our school with snowdrops of Lenten hope!
