Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
As a school we work within the Milton Keynes Provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in mainstream schools, which explains the ways pupils with different additional needs are provided for within the school. We also follow our ‘Equality and Disability’ policy and we also have an ‘Accessibility’ plan.
At St Mary Magdalene School all pupils, regardless of their particular needs, are offered inclusive quality first teaching which will enable them to make the best possible progress. Our Special Education Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator is: Mrs C Ledger. For further information please see our SEND policy or contact her on 01908 321746.

Arrangements for Supporting Children with SEND
In September 2014 changes were made to the law regarding the support of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilies (SEND) within schools. The government believes that these changes will allow for more family involvement as the new law puts the child first and provides parents with more information. Statements of Special Educational Needs have been replaced with Education Healthcare Plans. Pupils who are currently on the school SEND register with less complex needs but who still require help will now be placed on SEND Support. The law requires schools to publish on their website, details of their SEND provision known as the SEND Local Offer. This can be found in the document below.
